We are inviting FFA students from Shelby, Darke, Auglaize, and Mercer Counties for a hands-on morning of soil health education. Students will rotate through three sessions including Regenerative Agriculture, Monitoring Soil Health with a live rainfall simulator demo, and a Soil Pit and Practice Judging competition.
Our goal is to connect the next generation of farmers with the conservation principles, why these matter, and what they could do with this experience in the future.
Two half-day soil health programs will be presented at the MVP Dairy at Celina (Mercer County). The morning will focus on soil judging and local FFA students will be the main audience. The same speakers, including George Derringer, Soil Scientist, will present similar topics in the afternoon.
