The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) will host an Ohio Soil Health Week event centered on soil health education and live music at the Athens Farmers Market on 11/14, connecting Soil & Soul. OEC will share information about the foundational importance of soil health along with information about regional and statewide resources for further education. Regional partners who engage in different ways with Soil Health (such as Community Food Initiatives) will be welcome to join, ensuring an accessible, community‑focused event that elevates soil health through authentic farmer perspectives and familiar public spaces. OEC’s Southeast Ohio Regional Director Molly Jo Stanley will coordinate live music to complement the information booth, featuring various local musicians and songs that connect us with our roots and the Earth.
