9413 Sophia Avenue provided the foundation to exercise just how circular and localized a small group can go, to repurpose and remediate construction and demolition waste on a brownfield in Cleveland, Ohio.
The truth is that a localized commitment to circularity has its challenges and barriers— and we can share what this looks like as we celebrate soil health, advocate for circular support systems, and our own journey to a toxic-free and remediative landscape turned art in Cleveland, Ohio.
Cleveland-based composters Rustbelt Riders and Artist Malena Grigoli were vital to bringing this all together in partnership with My Grow Connect, Redhouse and Collective Citizens Organized Against Lead.
We hope you will join us at 9413 Sophia Ave to celebrate soil health in Ohio and beyond.

Walking required, some tall grasses and insects, some thorny plants as well -- poison ivy was on site at one point. People would need to wear closed-toe shoes and pants or some sort of covering for their legs. No restroom on site, so the event can last no longer than 1 hour.
